Here are three super rad parties to ring in 2013

New Year's Eve Throwdown @DG's Taphouse - Mumfords, Dead Larry, Trouble Lights (YAY!), Iowa School of Burlesque, Utopia Park & Dr Murdock.  7p, $10.  

Trouble Lights, Mumfords and Pheonix L'Amour & her burlesque kids are one helluva combo and the beer selection @DG's is tits.  This is the best party in Ames, hands down.

NYE @The House of Bricks - The Maw, The Family (They threw the best NYE party I've ever been to), On A Pale Horse (\m/), Nest of Snakes.  8p, $10.

I can't imagine a harder way to celebrate the coming of 2013.  The Family is a sort of supergroup of sorts that throws THE BEST NYE parties and On A Pale Horse is always completely and irrevicably bad ass.

Des Moines's Social Club's "The Bash" @Capital Square - Madison Ray, Chris Ford, Tires, Love Songs for Lonely Monsters, Des Moines Gay Mens Chorus & about a thousand other performers and entertainers will make this the BIGGEST party in Des Moines. 8p, $20 for entrance/$100 for VIP.
