I know it's only the middle of November but there really isn't anything on my radar preventing me from busting this out already.

My top five albums of 2012:

5. Sleigh Bells - Reign of Terror

The sophomore effort from Sleigh Bells is more of the same with a bit more piss and vinegar tossed in for good measure...if you like your guitars loud and your singers hot, this record is perfect for you.

4. Alabama Shakes - Boys & Girls

Just clean, crisp, soulful indie rock with callbacks to some of America's best songwriters but from a fresh perspective.

3. Frank Ocean - Channel Orange

This is R&B reinvented and on K2.  So trippy, so good...best taken with enhancements.

2.  Spiritualized - Sweet Heart, Sweet Light

This is the band's best work since the 1997 magnum opus, Ladies & Gentlemen, We're Floating in Space.  More epic wall of drugs songs about love, loss, death, and life...all while being extremely life-affirming...strange no?

1.  Macklemore x Ryan Lewis - The Heist

Get my 100% impression on the above to the left...just know that this is the best album released this year.

Fun Fact #1 - RATM's S/T debut turned 20 this year....YIKES.

p.s. - we'll have copies of the 2cd/1dvd combo of RATM XX for you online for free in a few days....hang tight.
