Getting terrified yet?  We've got three more movies to discuss!

#3 - A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (1984)

This is one original that I very much prefer to the remake.

I don't usually get off on slasher flicks when I do horror, but this is one that scared the bejebus out of me when I first saw it at age 12 and not because of the gore or myriad jump scares that the movie employs, but because I found myself rooting for the villian...even though I knew I shouldn't be.

How could I not, I mean the guy has KNIVES FOR HANDS and he had hilarious quips every time he offed one of the whiny little brats that called Elm Street home.

Everything about this movie screamed badassery to me then (and even now) and even at the franchise's lowest (I'm looking at you Dream Warriors), to me - it's still miles above Friday the 13th.

Also, think about it.....I'll bet you a coming soon Dunkin Donut that you still know all the words to the "nursery rhyme" from Nightmare.

1...2...

Fun Fact #1 - Elm Street was Johnny Depp's first film.

Fun Fact #2 - The first time Robert Englund tried on the infamous Freddy glove, he cut himself.
